We’re looking for a highly motivated Director of Insurance Product Management to join our growing Novo Insurance team. The successful candidate will manage the design, implementation, and performance of Motion Auto’s insurance products. In this role, you will collaborate with product, service, marketing, legal, and engineering teams to develop new products, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize product profitability. You will play a key role in expanding into new states and markets, while ensuring seamless integration with policy administration systems and third-party data providers.
This role can be hybrid (preferred) or remote.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the design, filing, and implementation of insurance products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for rating, rules, forms, and underwriting.
- Collaborate with outside counsel, consultants, and regulatory agencies to conduct compliance reviews and respond to mandatory data calls (DOI, NAIC, and others).
- Support expansion into new states by developing and modifying products to ensure profitability, compliance, and alignment with business goals.
- Translate product needs into clear business requirements and work with developers and design teams to implement accurate rating and underwriting rules.
- Oversee workflows within policy administration systems (e.g., Duck Creek) and integrations with third-party data/reporting providers.
- Monitor product performance post-launch and use data insights to recommend changes that improve product outcomes.
- Analyze loss patterns, market forces, risk distributions, and distribution management to inform pricing and underwriting strategies.
- Partner with leadership to recommend enhancements to existing products or opportunities for new products.
- Provide guidance to team members on premium and loss data collection and analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the business.
Experience and Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in insurance product management, preferably within P&C insurance.
- Experience with new state and new market product launches required.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, rating, rules, forms, and underwriting.
- Hands-on experience with policy administration systems (PAS) such as Duck Creek and workflows involving third-party integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend actionable strategies.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CPCU designation preferred.
**Compensation**
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 – $220,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
