About the Office

The Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor Communications and Engagement brings together media, communications, government relations, events, alumni and philanthropy. Our aim is to create a high performing team that works together to raise the profile, reputation and engagement with the University’s key stakeholders and partners using a variety of media and communications channels. An important part of how we will achieve this is through effective and creative story telling by sharing our successes, achievements and activities using a variety and channels and techniques.

About the role

Coordinate strategic priority events that promote and enhance the reputation of the University and support the broader events portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Key internal university events such as Graduations, Awards Ceremonies, Orientation Days, private dinners, and key academic events such as conferences and notable visiting speaker events.
  • Key recruitment events, such as Open Day and any other events or functions for the purpose of promoting the University to prospective students.
  • Provide input and recommendations to ensure the University delivers vibrant and engaging events and functions that support the strategic priorities
  • Working within event budgets and sourcing and engaging appropriate event suppliers, venue providers and coordination of staff and volunteers.

 

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Minimum requirements involve knowledge or training equivalent to a completion of a Tertiary level qualification with extensive work experience in event management, production delivery or creative industries.
  • Significant experience in planning, coordinating and scheduling a range of high-level functions and events.
