ABOUT THE ROLE
The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to support the Principal Investigator, Project Manager and research team for the BREATHE SMART trial. This position is part-time based at the Darlinghurst Campus.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Conduct field work and provide research support for the BREATHE SMART trial as required.
  • Assist with duties such as data collection, storage, and preliminary analysis of data, in accordance with research protocols.
  • Undertake literature searches, liaise with participating GPs/GP practices, and provide technical support to GP practices. 
  • Coordinate and take minutes in meetings between researchers and external partners.
  • Comply with University policies and procedures, including confidentiality, research ethics, equity and health & safety. 
  • Adhere to the University’s Code of Conduct, and behave, act, and communicate at all times to reflect fairness, ethics and professionalism.
  • Other duties as directed by the line manager, or Lead researcher.
 
ABOUT YOU
 
  • A Diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience /education /training.
  • Demonstrated experience in health research and the ability to exercise initiative and work independently under broad direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out specified research tasks accurately with strong attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records and contribute to the preparation of research reports and publications.
  • Demonstrated high-level organisation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously when required.
  • Demonstrated research assistance experience in primary care research.
  • Sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
