About the role
The Trainer and Assessor in Individual Support will be responsible to plan, develop and deliver vocational education training and assessment in accordance with the relevant training package, Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025 and the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Trainer and Assessor plays a crucial role in equipping students with practical skills and knowledge that align with current industry requirements, thereby enhancing their employability and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Delivery – Conduct training sessions, develop training materials, assessment methods adapt training methods and deliver.
- Assessment and Evaluation – Assess learner competency, provide feedback, maintain records and participate in validation work processes.
- Learner Support – Support learners, monitor student progress and encourage development for a positive learning experience.
- Quality Assurance – Adhere to training standards, ensure continuous improvement, and compliance standards are achieved.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Relevant qualification in the Individual Support field, such as a Certificate III (CHC33021) Individual Support or a higher qualification.
- Relevant degree or vocational qualification in Individual Support.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116).
- Experience in delivering competency-based training and assessment.
- Current and relevant industry experience in aged care, disability support, or related fields.
- Experience in delivery and assessment of Certificate III (CHC33021) in Individual Support training package.
- Current Trainer and Assessor Skills Matrix.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Proficient in using office software and learning management systems.
