Your role

You will be responsible for coordinating and providing support and advice on the development, implementation and evaluation of Vocational Education Training (VET) courses by ensuring a seamless experience to ensure the quality of units delivered by internal teams and being a key point of contact for university academics. You will also be responsible for administration and resources associated with the Diploma of Nursing programs conducted by VET on the Broome Campus and building strong local relations within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice as the discipline leader and oversees the delivery of the Diploma of Nursing program, ensuring that VET programs are consistent and compliant with VET Quality Framework and University standards.
  • Day to day management of all administrative matters relating to operational and strategic planning, governance, budgeting, resource management and workforce planning.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports, and undertakes the performance and development reviews of direct reports to promote a highly engaged, positive and effective workplace culture.
  • Initiate and foster professional relationships and networks within the University community and with external stakeholders, professional and community organisations and clients.
  • Keep abreast of changes in the direction and approach to administrative and operational policies and procedures across the University to implement quality and risk management processes.
  • Operate as a subject matter expert and in conjunction with Regulatory Assurance to support validation and moderation activities.
  • Contribute to the training and assessment delivery of VET courses, by providing adhoc support and backfill.
  • Delivering teaching and conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions and clinical sessions, including associated marking and assessments.

Selection Criteria

  • A Postgraduate Degree qualification in Nursing with a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualification, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
  • Be registered with a relevant professional body such as AHPRA
  • Whilst not essential, a suitable candidate will possess a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be willing to complete as part of their employment.
  • Demonstrated experience of working within of the current standards of RTO requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct training needs analysis, design capability frameworks and develop training programs within a university or tertiary environment would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent operational and project management skills including the ability to analyse complex issues and problems, develop feasible solutions, and manage multiple concurrent complex projects from initiation through to completion.
