ABOUT THE ROLE
 
This position is responsible for the management of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) assessment program at the Fremantle campus, with a focus on the clinical years’ (Year 3 and 4) program. Develop assessments for the programs in consultation with Discipline Leaders, the Aboriginal Health team, and academic and clinical staff.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Oversight of the clinical years assessment blueprint, timetabling of assessment, and assessment submission processes.
  • Work closely with clinical years staff in the development of and revision of exam questions and their input into Examsoft for final review.
  • Manage the assignment of examiners for computer-based exams and provide relevant exam material and support to markers.
  • Support the development of OSCE stations, including organising OSCE workshops and liaison with the CCP domain Chair.
  • Maintain the assessment materials in Blackboard.
  • Meet regularly with the Head of Clinical years to manage the oversight of the exam development.
  • Meet as required with Head of Assessment to discuss/clarify/report concerns about the assessment program (its development and dissemination).
  • Assist the Head of Assessment with the preparation of materials for Board of Examination.
  • Contribute to appropriate School committees.
  • Support School participation in student recruitment, orientation and enrolment.
 
ABOUT YOU
 
  • Possession of a PhD or a Medical qualification registrable with AHPRA.
  • Teaching and assessment experience in medical education at a higher education or health service level.
  • A capacity to work collaboratively with relevant staff to implement and maintain effective systems and processes for ensuring the quality delivery of the assessment program, and for leading continuous quality improvement.
  • An ability to foster relationships and effective communication with domain chairs, discipline leads, academic staff and other stakeholders to develop assessment content and delivery.
  • An understanding of medical terminology and medicine or science sufficient to edit and review the exam content.
