About the office

The Finance Office plays an integral role in the success of the University ensuring responsible stewardship through financial performance and strategic procurement, with a view to financial sustainability and growth.
 
About the role

This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the University’s strategic and financial decision-making by developing robust financial models and conducting thorough data analysis. The role operates with considerable autonomy and broad direction, contributing valuable insights that inform key stakeholder decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing financial models and conducting analysis to support informed decision-making by key stakeholders.
  • Provide financial modelling for business case feasibility studies, including discounted cash flow analysis, net present value and internal rate of return calculations.
  • Create and deliver presentations and data visualisation dashboards to enhance stakeholder understanding of financial insights.
  • Maintain clear and transferable model documentation for use across the University.
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and management personnel.
  • Support cross-functional projects and ad hoc modelling tasks as directed, while complying with university policies and procedures.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Postgraduate qualifications, CA/CPA (or equivalent) accreditation, combined with extensive relevant experience.
  • Strong background in financial reporting using complex accounting systems and large datasets, with proficiency in analytical and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Proven ability to create impactful data visualisations tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conceptual skills, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with experience driving continuous improvement and service excellence.
