About the school

The Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business comprises two vibrant schools: the School of Arts & Sciences and the School of Law & Business. Our national faculty is based across three distinct campuses in Fremantle, Sydney, and Broome.

The National School of Arts and Sciences is one of the two national schools within the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. It is based across two campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Arts and Sciences delivers a practical, ethical, and industry-focused education in diverse areas of study, including the liberal arts, communications and media, counselling, and science, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.

The National School of Law and Business is the second of the two national schools within the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law and Business. It is also based across two campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The school aims to deliver a career-focused education that equips students with the practical skills and knowledge required to adapt and excel in the highly competitive fields of law and business.
 
About the role

The Senior Administration Officer performs a range of high-level administrative duties to support the school across teaching, learning, and research activities. The role also provides quality support to the Administration Coordinator to ensure the effective management and operation of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-level administrative support to advance the strategic and operational objectives of the National School of Arts & Sciences.
  • Coordinate meetings and prepare documentation, correspondence, presentations, and reports at a national level.
  • Provide financial administration support, including maintaining financial records, processing payments, purchase orders, and invoices, while monitoring and reporting on budget expenditure.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to students and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure tasks and communications are completed accurately and in a timely manner, while collaborating effectively with other areas across the organisation.
  • Support and, where required, guide administrative staff by providing on-the-job training and manage detailed administrative tasks such as data entry, spreadsheet maintenance, correspondence, and report preparation.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • A degree qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience in a busy, dynamic environment, with advanced organisational and computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn in-house systems (higher education experience is highly regarded).
  • Sound knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including email, internet, MS Office (including SharePoint), student administration systems, and the ability to learn and implement new systems.
