Description

As a Senior Guest Experience Team Member, you provide a 5-star visitor experience, proactively greeting every guest and communicating with enthusiasm. You are confident working on the floor 1in The Spheres, at the reception desk, and in Understory. You are a go-to person for information of all kinds and are excited to share the knowledge you develop of plants, architecture, amenities, campus policies, and more. As a Senior Spheres Ambassador, you are a mentor on the team, assisting with the training of new employees, and acting as a resource for your peers.
  
You will be successful in this role if you are a dedicated team member, eager to positively impact team culture and the guest experience. This requires proactive communication, gauging when he space is busy, and adlapting1to provide support where needed. Being present, on time, and manag1ing your schedule 1is key to the overall! team's success. You are adaptable and flexible, you look for ways to improve the day-to-day operations of The Spheres, and you have a solutions-based approach to challenges and setbacks.
  
Hours of operation are 8:50 am to 5:50 pm Monday through Friday, and 9:15 am to 6:00 pm on the first and third Saturd1ays of each month. On these weeks, staff will work a five-day work week with their days off split between an assigned weekday and Sunday. Saturday availability is required. Additional night and weekend work may occur for special events
   
Location: Seattle 
Schedule: Full-Time - Must be available to work a flexible schedule and work hours of operation to include weekends. Hours of operation are 8:50am-5:50pm Monday- Friday, and on select Saturdays. Schedules may vary due to operating hours
Starting Wage: $25.24 per hour | Full Wage Range: $25.24 - $30.58 per hour

Key Responsibilities
 
Training & Team Support
  • Assist Spheres Trainer in the training of new staff through appointed shadowing, and other training for new hires of Northwest Center @Amazon.
  • Greet all visitors in your assigned space in a friendly and professional manner, promoting engagement and answering all related questions. Assigned spaces may include The Spheres, Understory, and The Spheres reception desk. 
  • Assis with leading guided Spheres Tours on an as-needed basis. 
  • Facilitate the opening and closing of the The Spheres reception desk and/or Understory as needed, ensuring all required tasks are completed prior to the start or end of the public hours.
  • Lead by example following all company policies and procedures, including the use of specified software and other technology.
  • Maintain an attitude of flexibility and respect in all relationships with peers and staff.
Customer Experience
  • Provide a positive experience through engagement, information sharing and appropriate conversation.
  • Anticipate guest needs by maintaining a high level of situational awareness in order to proactively offer help as needed.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, while always-remaining professional and friendly.
  • Verbally welcome visitors, acting as  the point of reference for guest and Amazon employees who need assistance or information.
  • Help resolve any escalations with visitors in a professional and polite manner. 
Daily Operations
  • Arrive in uniform; launder as necessary, in order to ensure a professional appearance.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of the plant life in the Spheres highlighting unique plants in the space. Be prepared to offer insight and speak to the concept, timeline and design of the Spheres.
  • Facilitate the opening and closing of the Spheres, providing oversight of the space and ensuring it is clean, organized and customer-ready at all times.
  • Execute operational assignments during scheduled shifts while actively engaging with visitors and answering questions.
  • Rove assigned locations to ensure all building, safety and visitor policies are followed.
  • Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers using provided radios, instant messaging software and email.
  • Attend and actively participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Immediately communicate escalations or facility issues through the appropriate channels, while ensuring visibility is provided to leadership.
  • Gathe metrics to inform overall program needs as directed.
  • Flexibility to meet program needs and special events which can include nights and weekend work.
  • Provide information regarding the Spheres and points of interest to Seattle visitors, including eateries and landmarks.
  • Assist with new tasks, processes, or projects as needed to support evolving team requirements, other NWC divisions, and asks from Amazon partners. Is not change adverse and demonstrates adaptability as business needs develop and shift.

Experience
 
  • Minimum 1 year customer service in a museum, theme park or high profile venue preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures averaging between 72-76° F and a relative humidity level of 60%.
  • Ability to navigate uneven terrain and stairs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time, up to the entire duration of the shift.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, up to the entire duration of the shift.
  • Ability to independently walk/move consistently within a 1.5 mile radius.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to speak to visitors, staff and colleagues for the duration of each shift.
  • Ability to use electronic communication devices including radios and telephones.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions to support special events and projects.
