Bin Maintenance Specialist

Northwest Center is seeking a Full-Time Bin Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Seatac!
This role is responsible for transporting, placing, maintaining, and repairing metal clothing donation bins across the Puget Sound area. The position combines vehicle operation with skilled welding and fabrication work to ensure that donation bins remain functional, secure, and visually presentable. The Bin Maintenance Specialist is expected to demonstrate high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism while representing Northwest Center in the community.
The Big Blue Truck (BBT) division has been in continuous operation since 1967 and is the longest sustainable social enterprise of Northwest Center. BBT collects public donations that generate revenue crucial for Northwest Center's programs and services for people of all abilities.
Location: SeaTac, WA
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Wage Range: $26 - $36 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Inspect bins across assigned routes to identify maintenance needs and complete necessary repairs in the field or during scheduled shop maintenance.
- Use welding and fabrication skills to repair or modify bins and build new parts or reinforcement panels when required.
- Remove and install bin decals following layout designs and ensuring correct placement and branding. Using appropriate PPE when handling chemicals for adhesive removal.
- Clean and maintain donation bins and their surroundings, including graffiti removal, debris cleanup, and organization to ensure a safe, presentable site.
- Perform building repair and maintenance, including exterior inspection, and repair, providing preventative maintenance.
- Adhering to compliance of all OSHA, DOT, and safety procedures.
- Operate equipment as necessary, including up to 26' straight truck.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid WA State Driver's License
- Two (2) or more years of experience in welding and metal fabrication (MIG, TIG, or stick)
- Ability to stand/walk on various surfaces for extended periods
- Comfortable with bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs, up to 75 lbs on occasion
