Northwest Center is seeking a strategic and systems-minded Senior Director of Information Technology (IT) to build and lead a modern, integrated technology function that supports our mission, operations, and growth. As an $80M nonprofit social enterprise with a diverse workforce of more than 900 employees, we depend on technology to connect people, streamline operations, and deliver services at scale.
This leader will define and execute a clear technology strategy, enhance infrastructure and systems, and ensure a secure, user-friendly, and scalable technology environment. You’ll partner closely with leaders across the organization to understand their needs, guide priorities, and align technology solutions with organizational goals. Based upon this understanding, you will architect and implement an integrated system to support and sustain our growing businesses.
You’ll lead a small internal team and manage vendor relationships, with a focus on delivering practical, cost-effective solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and accessibility.
Location: Seattle, WA | Hybrid | Full-Time Exempt
Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000
Variable Pay Target: 15%

Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and implement a multi-year technology roadmap that aligns with organizational goals and day-to-day needs.
- Partner with leaders across the organization to understand where technology can improve operations, service delivery, and impact.
- Identify and lead improvements that reduce duplication, simplify processes, and improve the customer, client, and employee experience.
- Oversee enterprise systems and infrastructure, including efforts to modernize tools and migrate to scalable, cloud-based solutions.
- Ensure core platforms such as productivity tools, collaboration systems, and business applications are reliable and well-integrated.
- Maintain current IT policies, standards, and procedures that support cybersecurity, compliance, and operational stability.
- Strengthen data protection practices, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.
- Lead a small internal IT team and manage external vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality service and delivery.
- Promote a team culture focused on responsiveness, learning, and practical problem solving.
- Oversee day-to-day IT support, including ticketing systems and end-user experience.
- Support staff across locations with tools and training that improve confidence and productivity in technology use.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role with enterprise-wide responsibilities
- Experience in architecting, developing, and implementing IT strategies and leading systems for infrastructure improvements.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies (O365, SharePoint, Azure) and network fundamentals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and pragmatic approach.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business value and support cross-functional problem-solving.
- Experience in nonprofit, education, healthcare, or social enterprise environments preferred.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or related standards preferred.
- Experience supporting distributed or hybrid workforces preferred.
- An understanding of accessibility and inclusive technology practices is preferred.
