NWC is hiring for a Senior Event Concierge! 

Northwest Center is seeking a concierge who will manage the ins and outs of a unique working space. The ideal candidate has experience in high end office building settings and is customer obsessed. They will manage onsite logistics and will be responsible for meticulous maintenance of scheduling process, greeting customers upon entry, walking and guiding visitors through the space and support all operational needs.

The ideal candidate has experience working with executive leadership in a support role. They are a self-starter with an impeccable attention to detail. They are comfortable with ambiguity but can successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with direction and support from onsite staff. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They anticipate customer needs, resolve tactical challenges, and remain calm under pressure.

Schedule: Full Time - 40 hours a week between Monday - Friday between 7:30AM - 6PM
Starting Wage: $29.31 per hour | Full Range $29.31 - $36.93 per hour

Location: Crystal City, VA + DMV Area

Who You Are

  • Ensure meeting space is customer-ready, which includes greeting and welcoming all visitors in a friendly, warm, professional and courteous manner. Provide a 5-star first impression for every visitor.
  • Prepare and setup resources including printed materials, supplies, and other event-related needs in an organized and visually appealing fashion.
  • Work from the welcome desk, greet guests and visitors, provide scheduling processes, walk visitors throughout the space and support operational needs.
  • Setup working areas or conferences rooms prior to each use and continuously throughout the day.
  • Onsite for set up, duration, and breakdown of events in the space.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of relevant data/metrics as needed.
  • Prepare briefing rooms and event spaces with precision between meetings and activities.
  • Partner with onsite support such as Facilities, Events, Catering, and AV to resolve ad hoc needs.
  • Within established guidelines and time frames, enter all event requirements and related information into the established system, and ensure the dissemination of such information to all operating departments and stakeholders.
  • Manage supply inventory and ensure all storage areas and organized as well as communicate to Supervisor when reordering needs to occur as necessary.
  • Ensure all small plant life around Welcome Desks are maintained.
  • Be ready to share nearby places to eat and other landmarks to visit within the area.
  • Assist with special events and projects, as requested.
  • Arrive in the designated attire and ensure a professional appearance.
  • Provide clear summaries of completed tasks and ongoing projects to leadership as needed.
  • Immediately report any suspicious persons, calls and packages to security and NWC leadership


Who You Are

  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred
  • Customer service skills with executives.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in a high-volume customer-facing role.
  • Highly effective in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to be on-site in Arlington, VA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet and SharePoint.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in luxury customer focus hotels/resorts and/or luxury restaurants.
  • Experience in event organization and planning.
  • Proven record of cross-team collaboration and ability to influence decision making.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Experience managing a shared team Outlook inbox in addition to their own.
  • Experience with Chime, Slack, and WorkDocs.
  • BS/BA degree in hospitality, international relations, marketing, or equivalent related experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends based on event needs.
  • Must be able to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.
  • May need to carry supplies to other buildings.
  • Support adjusting furniture or working with the onsite team to help facilitate furniture needs.
  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods (up to 8 hours per workday).
  • Ability to move consistently within a 1.5 radius is required.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
  • This is a dog friendly environment with over 1000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs may not be the best fit.
