Northwest Center (NWC) is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team.
 
Founded in 1965 by Washington parents of children with disabilities, NWC is an organization that provides services for people with disabilities from cradle through career. LithtexNW is one of several businesses within the Northwest Center family, and we are looking to add a Staff Accountant to support our Bellingham team. This is the perfect opportunity for an accounting clerk or assistant eager to develop their skills in a supportive, growth-focused environment.
 
As a Staff Accountant, you will provide essential financial and administrative services to the LithtexNW division, supporting accounts payable and receivable, cash management, and financial reporting. You'll play a key part in maintaining financial integrity across projects, supporting budgeting efforts, and analyzing financial data to inform decision-making. Additionally, there is an opportunity to collaborate with internal teams to manage customer billing and monitor account activity, while contributing to a high-functioning, detail-oriented team.

Location: Bellingham, WA
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Wage Range: $31.25 - $36.05 per hour

What you'll be doing:
  • Process accounts payable, including coding, approvals, invoice management, and payments
  • Manage accounts receivable, including entering billing and sending invoices daily
  • Handle daily cash deposits, receipts, and postings
  • Conduct accounting data analysis for special projects
  • Prepare, analyze, and finalize financial reports and schedules
  • Maintain accurate financial records, supporting schedules and documentation
  • Support budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial analysis
  • Audit records and support billing and accounts payable processes
  • Analyze trends, costs, and operations to support decision-making
  • Monitor past-due accounts, provide timely support schedules for sales staff, and process credit card payments
Needed Experience:
  • Associates Degree (AA) in Accounting or related field required
  • Bachelors Degree (BA) in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Two (2+) or more years of experience in an accounting/finance department
  • Proficiency with any Accounting ERP system required
  • Excellent customer service skills with a positive, professional attitude 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate, with the ability to maintain confidentiality in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
