Position: Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Salary: 123,000 – 185,000
 
Reporting to the Chief Growth & Operating Officer (CGOO), the Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. This position is responsible for NWC sales and marketing strategy and execution; key social enterprise sales strategy & facilitating execution; and Partnership strategy, marketing, and sales.  The successful candidate will partner closely with all enterprise business and mission leaders to drive growth within existing and new NWC businesses, build a best-in-class marketing operations center of excellence across people, processes, strategy, and technology, and partner externally to drive strategic relationships that support growth. Our Vice President will have a strategic business mindset, thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, have significant sales and marketing leadership and operations chops, be experienced and comfortable in a sales position accountable for a revenue target, and successfully partner with a wide group of stakeholders both inside and outside of NWC.

The role:
Sales
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets through direct selling, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
  • NWC’s Sales System
    • Establish or optimize operational sales process flows to create an effective sales organization so that there is an effective and consistent sales strategy and approach at Northwest Center across all businesses.
    • Ensure that programs' end-to-end experiences are repeatable, scalable, and in line with NWC core values.
    • Support the adoption of Microsoft CRM.
    • Develop an effective structure for ensuring accurate and timely payments of commissions for the sales team.
  • Sales collateral development
    • Direct the marketing team to develop co-marketing strategies and materials that align with our customers’ and partners’ goals and enhance brand visibility.
  • Sales team leadership and cross-functional leadership.
    • Partner with division leads in commercial enterprises to ensure appropriate sales/ growth targets.
    • Evaluate sales capacity and current sales organization capability to determine whether NWC has the right capacity and capability to meet needs
    • Mentor division sales professionals as necessary, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    • Build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, customers, constituents, clients, partner organizations, and professional associations.
    • Identify and implement new opportunities to support connection between sales and operational efficiency in social enterprise operations.
  • Sales execution and results
    • Identify, negotiate, and close high-value deals with a focus on long-term mutual benefit.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of agreements and satisfied customers & partners.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to identify new opportunities and areas for growth.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance and strategic initiatives to the CGOO.  Prepare executive-level reporting on key metrics and project status and share updates regularly.
Marketing
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives and develops leads for Northwest Center’s sales team.
    • Develop and lead a highly effective marketing organization, including content, media, customer acquisition, branding, customer engagement, communications, and partnership marketing.
    • Lead and inspire the marketing team to drive affinity with our services across multiple enterprises and bring marketing concepts to life, fast.
    • Be customer-obsessed, data-hungry, and comfortable advocating for your plans and explaining business results to our company’s most senior executives.
    • Oversee all marketing channels - including digital, social media, email, and some traditional marketing activations - developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and support growth and engagement within target segments.
    • Manage marketing intake process, including prioritization, sizing, and team planning.
    • Manage the marketing budget, allocating resources efficiently to maximize ROI and achieve key performance indicators.
    • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for brand growth and market share expansion.
    • Spearhead the development and execution of innovative campaigns that resonate with our target audience and amplify our brand presence.
    • Collaborate with internal and external/agency teams to create and measure impactful marketing materials, campaigns, and messaging that effectively communicate the value of our offerings, enhance customer and prospect engagement, and drive growth.
    • Utilize data analytics to track, measure, and analyze campaign success and inform future marketing strategies, continuously seeking ways to improve performance and effectiveness.
    • Continually experiment and introduce new approaches to marketing that engage customers in innovative ways.
    • Perhaps most importantly, have a passion for advancing NWC’s disability inclusion agenda.
Rhythm of the Business
    • Manage an effective rhythm of the business for both the sales and marketing functions to ensure accountability and impact.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs on an ongoing basis, including collecting and analyzing data and research to identify opportunities and optimize strategy and delivery.
    • Manage budgets as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 15 years’ experience in B2B and B2C Marketing, Fortune 500 companies preferred, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on partnerships, marketing, or strategic alliances
  • Proven experience developing programs & systems to support sales and marketing efforts
  • Proven experience developing successful strategic alliances and partnerships or direct sales experiences
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team towards achieving common goals
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals that contribute significantly to company revenue; demonstrated success at the consistent achievement of a revenue target
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans
  • Knowledgeable on MarTech and SalesTech
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building relationships at all levels within and outside the organization
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for both building and leading
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related required; MBA preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with partners and attend industry events
