Employment Specialist

Northwest Center is looking for an Employment Specialist to join our growing team! 


As an Employment Specialist (ES), you will be responsible for providing vocational support for people with disabilities through job coaching and ongoing skills development, and assume the responsibility for developing and implementing appropriate personal services plans. You will be expected to assist with administration and delivery of quality employment services. In addition, you will ensure that the necessary paperwork for each client meets professional standards and deadlines, thereby helping the team meet the regulatory requirements of its funders. This position will require a high degree of flexibility, comfort in ambiguity, and working in flexible work spaces and warehouses, including working remotely and at various sites across King County, including Seattle, Shoreline, Kirkland and Kent.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working in multiple warehouse environments with varying temperatures. Many buildings have dock doors that open throughout shifts, this can cause the temperature to be high during the summer or cold during the winter depending on the location.


Wage: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour DOE

Where: Home Base located in Renton - various sites across King County, including Seattle, Shoreline, Kirkland and Kent

Schedule: Monday - Friday Full-Time ~ This position requires occasionally working on nights and weekends



  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite, advanced knowledge preferred
  • Valid WA State Driver’s license and car insurance
  • Operating carts, dollies, hand trucks and other moving equipment to move large quantities of merchandise
  • Acceptable 5 year driving record
  • Own vehicle for transportation

Physical requirements of the position

  • Ability to sit down for up to 8 hrs per day
  • Ability to stand up for up to 8 hrs per day
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10- 15 lbs frequently and up to 49 lbs on occasion
  • Frequent amount talking/hearing; both in person and over the telephone
  • Frequent use of keyboard
