Technical Lead - Supply Chain

The Supply Chain Technical Lead plays a key role in shaping the future of NTE’s Supply Chain capabilities in terms of its Solutions enablement and technical implementations, optimizations, and support.  This position aligns strategic goals and objectives with technical decisions regarding products and services, partners and suppliers, organization, capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus includes Technical Leadership on project teams as well as enhancements and support.   The Supply Chain Tech Lead works closely with the IT Business Supply Chain Relationship Manager, PMs and Enterprise and/or Solution Architecture to develop an integrated view of the Supply Chain technologies using a repeatable approach to technical enablement of NTEs Supply Chain solutions.


1.       Designs and leads the technical implementation of end-to-end Supply Chain solutions. Work with teams to breakdown complex problems, document the breakdown, and gain buy-in from the entire team on the solutions.

2.       Leads IT cross-functional and interdepartmental technology enablement of Supply Chain initiatives. Ensure quality results, an aligned focus to achieve the strategic goals of the organization.

3.       Partners with business and key stakeholders to collaboratively develop, maintain and execute the Supply Chain Business/Technical Roadmap/s, execute the technical components of the Supply Chain project portfolio, and provide regular status reviews and updates to Business and IT leadership.

4.       Creates and maintains functional and technical documentation related to Supply Chain solutions

5.       Participates in design reviews and provides input into design recommendations

6.       Monitors Supply Chain Systems performance proactively and identifies and escalates impediments, issues, and risks affecting Supply Chain systems. Identifies and documents ongoing maintenance requirements for any new or existing Supply Chain systems

7.       Participates in QA/testing activities to endure high quality deliverables

8.       Research and evaluation of industry developments, technology trends and digital solutions surrounding Supply Chain.

9.       Participates in Supply Chain strategic planning activities in collaboration with key stakeholders.

10.   Establishes and sustains positive supplier relationships with external parties and contacts to result in favorable partnerships to support the current and future Supply Chain goals of the organization.

11.   Adheres to Enterprise Architecture principles and helps build technical standards of Supply Chain products and services.

12.   Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.

13.   Identifies gaps, takes initiative, and is a self-starter to take on work that will be outside the defined scope.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience. Advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of related job experience.
  • Must have strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Must have excellent planning skills.
  • Experience with implementing and/or supporting multiple Supply Chain Technologies, including Distribution Centers, Transportation, and Inventory Management.
  • Familiar with developing Supply Chain technical roadmaps.
  • Working knowledge and experience with omni-channel retail platforms including eCommerce, Order Management Systems, contact center is highly desirable
  • Experience in managing technology products and services suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and collaborate with peers to provide solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with all employee levels in multiple departments.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, and demonstrates a “can do” attitude, quickly acquiring and applying skills and knowledge in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth experience in the technical design, development, testing, deployment, and support of solutions.
