Culinary Director Job Summary: 
As the Culinary Director, you will helm the culinary operations, planning and overseeing the entire food service department. Through your expertise and guidance, you will cultivate a dining experience that delights our residents, reinforces nutritional values, and establishes a standard of culinary excellence that has become a hallmark of our identity. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Plan, develop, organize, and implement the food service department, including hiring staff.
  • Meet regularly with the Executive Director and care staff to ensure compliance with residents’ diet requirements.
  • Train staff, and monitor/promote independent programs for staff training.
  • Order and purchase food, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Direct the proper storage of food and supplies and maintain an orderly inventory.
  • Ensure the delivery of meals to the dining room at appropriate times.
  • Assist in food preparation and cleaning duties.
  • Plan and assist with special events including private dinners.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Food Service budget and make efforts to operate within those guidelines. 
Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or GED and successful completion of a reputable course in food service management preferred.
  • College degree in culinary arts/management is very desirable.
  • Certificate/License as required by federal/state/local law or associated agencies. 
  • Physically able to move at least 25 lbs. without assistanceMay be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
