Position Summary

The Client Service Representative position provides exceptional front-line commercial client service in a Commercial Insurance Specialist (CIS) support role, providing timely service and information to the client, CIS and Underwriting.

What you will be doing: 

Client Service:

  • Providing front line communication liaison with our commercial clients, handling all incoming client phone calls, resolving questions related to coverage additions, deletions and modifications
  • Timely handling of client service requests
  • Completing policy adjustment requests, identifying and informing CIS where potential cross sell/upsell opportunities exist
  • Maintaining client database
  • Processing certificates of insurance, pink cards, coverage confirmations etc.

Commercial Insurance Specialist Support

  • Assisting CIS with their responsibilities so as to effectively maximize their use of time, forwarding critical phone messages and correspondence to CIS, keeping them informed of account status
  • Providing timely information from the client to the risk analysts as requested
  • Assisting in the preparation and production of all documents as required
  • Supporting renewal and underwriting function
  • Calling clients on over-due accounts as required
  • Producing Annual Client Reviews and proposals as required
  • Completing policy adjustment requests and informs CISs where potential coverage deficiencies are evident
  • Keeping CISs informed in advance of all renewal and ACR due dates and assisting the maintenance of ACR completion system
  • Assisting in obtaining territory results and forwarding to District Sales Manager on a weekly basis.


  • Data input of renewals and new business
  • Completing of adjustments and changes as required and authorized
  • General maintenance of computer database and Salesplace system
  • Producing of documents and reports as required
  • Maintaining client files in an orderly, organized manner
  • Delivering office support to the underwriting team
  • Developing knowledgeable of Federated’s products in our target market

 What we are looking for:

  • Diploma course in an administrative or business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Licensed in Commercial Lines Insurance
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Experience working in a professional environment where the delivery of high quality customer service is the standard
