Position Summary 

The Senior Claims Field Representative is responsible for providing efficient on site and in-the-field investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of moderately sized and/or complex property claims in accordance with corporate guidelines and standard operating practices. The Claims Field Representative is expected to participate in Northbridge's after hours and on-call program to support our commitment to an exceptional customer experience for our brokers and clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Investigate moderately sized claims, negotiate settlement and recovery and conduct reporting and documentation in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Participate in the weekly on-call rotation.
  • Conduct investigations of claims through contact with insurers, claimants, witnesses, other carriers, physicians, contractors and lawyers.
  • Create and implement an action plan for the resolution of each file.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient payment of claims in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with all parties to ensure the assignment and completion of tasks according to company service standards.
  • Develop working relationships with other departments in order to meet business goals.
  • Apply standard operating procedures towards compliance, internal control and operational risk controls in accordance with regulatory standards and policies.
  • Work collaboratively with Adjusters, Supervisors and Managers on special projects and assignments when requested.

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary education and/or the equivalent of on-the-job experience.
  • Five years of claims handling experience ideally with experience working in the field.
  • Experience handling multi-lines claims, including property, liability and transportation.
  • Valid driver's license and solid driving record.
  • Ability to travel within British Columbia.
  • CIP designation is considered an asset.
