Located in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District, our head office is easily accessible by TTC and GO Transit, and within walking distance to the Eaton Centre and CN Tower. As a national property and casualty commercial insurance provider, we also have offices across Canada.

Position Summary 

The Claims Analyst (12 Month Contract) is responsible for supporting the day to day operations of claims staff nationally. This includes the analysis of claims information and related business systems requirements, and aiding in the resolution of process and system related issues. 

What you will be doing:

  1. Identify and analyze problems/issues for the claims department, and test solutions.
  2. Business modeling for increased efficiency.
  3. Compile and organize various scheduled and ad-hoc reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  4. Compile, organize and analyze data for periodic filing.
  5. Investigate data inconsistencies and recommend improvements to reduce error ratios.
  6. Develop and maintain a knowledge and understanding of company operations/procedures.
  7. Support the day to day operations of claims teams through the maintenance of various claims processes and systems.
  8. Participate in special projects to support Regional and National management as required.
  9. Other related duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in the property and casualty industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of internal business operations, operational procedures, workflow and processing functions.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance trends, developments, current standards, philosophies, and federal and provincial/local laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of claims systems (CPLUS. VIP, ClaimsDesk, OASIS, TED)
  • Ability to work within and adapt to PC oriented environments, including familiarity with e-mail and Internet skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Actively pursuing CIP designation
  • Fluently bilingual (English / French) is a definite asset (a requirement in Quebec Region).
