Located in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District, our head office is easily accessible by TTC and GO Transit, and within walking distance to the Eaton Centre, Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, and CN Tower. As a national property and casualty commercial insurance provider, we also have offices across Canada.

Position Summary 

The Human Resources Administrator (Contract) is responsible for performing various administrative People & Culture functions, as well as providing support to members of the People & Culture department.  The incumbent will also be accountable for the coordination of various corporate initiatives, such as Take Our Kids to Work Program,. This is a one year contract, beginning February 2020.

What you will be doing:

  1. Perform administrative support for the People & Culture department.
  2. Responsible for day to day accountability for payroll administration.
  3. Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team.
    • Prepare new hire packages
    • Conduct orientations
    • Submit onboarding paperwork to Payroll
  4. Manage the PeopleSupport Inbox by resolving and responding to staff inquiries related to policies and procedures, pay, benefits, educational expenses and employment related matters in a timely manner. Where necessary, triaging inquiries to the appropriate People & Culture teams.
  5. Coordinate and facilitate legislative training to all staff.
  6. Responsible for preparing and distributing various reports (i.e. milestone, birthday, audit, etc).
  7. Monitor and set up new hires on the company-wide Attendance Management System.
  8. Ensure personnel files are maintained and documents are filed in a timely manner.
  9. Accountable for coordinating and participating in various corporate initiatives (i.e. Take Our Kids to Work, and annual compliance process).
  10. Update and maintain organizational charts on a quarterly basis for the leadership team.

Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on the job experience within the HR field.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an HR Assistant preferred.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • User level knowledge of Visio would be an asset
