Located in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District, our head office is easily accessible by TTC and GO Transit, and within walking distance to the Eaton Centre, Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre, and CN Tower. Position Summary 

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack developer to help evolve our online tools for our website visitors and customers. As a member of our Digital Experience team, you will be responsible for developing, building and maintaining complex cloud-based solutions with an Angular/AngularJS front-end and Python back-end technologies.

What you will be doing:

  • Mentor/coach junior developers
  • Participate in product development from ideation to deployment and beyond.
  • Create new features for our users and customers.
  • Work alongside our front-end development team to connect their UI creations with our back-end systems
  • Work closely with our User Experience team to make our products smarter and more intuitive to use.
  • Create and test program data and assist in overall system testing.
  • Participate in peer reviews/code walkthroughs to ensure completeness and quality of development deliverables
  • Proactively propose improvements to guidelines and best practices.
  • Research new technologies and approaches that can benefit the team.
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge and understanding of company operations and procedures, as well as Insurance trends/developments to enhance job performance.
  • Create and maintain software documentation

What we are looking for:

  • Education in Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • Ability to extend existing and build new (SOAP, REST)-based web services and applications with JavaScript, Python, and Django.
  • Strong front-end development skills in AngularJS, Angular, React, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • Proven skills in design/architecture of large complex applications
  • Interact with APIs and participate in the planning of API development
  • Experience with productionizing NodeJS servers
  • Experience with version control systems (GIT and TFS), including code merging and branching
