Small Animal Internal Medicine Internship
Are you a talented and motivated veterinarian with a passion for small animal internal medicine?
 
North Shore Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre are now seeking expressions of interest for a 12-month fixed term Internal Medicine Internship. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a passionate team and develop your skills and prepare for ANZCVS membership examinations and potential future residency programs.

About Us
North Shore Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre is a purpose-built facility, that provides leading specialist care 24/7, 365 days a year, with specialists in critical care, internal medicine, surgery, oncology, anaesthetics, dermatology, exotics, and a progressive general practice.
 
We recently moved to a brand-new state of the art facility. The facility has been purposed designed and filled with the latest and greatest equipment including:
  • Complete in-house laboratory (biochemistry, haematology and blood gas)
  • A comprehensive diagnostic imaging department with 2 ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, a 128 Slice GE CT scanner and Siemen 1.5T MRI facility
  • Multiple mechanical ventilators
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Endoscopy
  • Three fully equipped operating theatres
  • In-house blood bank
  • Dedicated ICU with cot bed and oxygen cages

The Opportunity
NSVSC is looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian with at least one year of experience to join our internal medicine team for a 12-month internship. This is a great opportunity for motivated veterinarians with an interest in pursuing further training or who intend to sit memberships. You will receive regular didactic teaching in the form of specialist led lectures and tutorials, regular CPR training, participate in journal club and case presentations.
 
Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in NSW. The ideal applicant will be motivated and always willing to learn and grow. Our aim is for you to keep as much out of the internship as possible. Good communication skills are essential. Above all else we value someone who is a team player; committed to our patients and is keen to be a part of our specialist team.
