Quality Assurance Manager 
  
    
Job Summary 
We are looking for a high-quality individual to fill the position of Quality Manager for our Okarche manufacturing facility. This position will lead the implementation of a world-class quality culture, with the mission to turn quality into a competitive advantage.  Provide overall product and process quality input across functional areas to improve total quality for the organization. Performs the following duties personally or through direct reports. 
 
  
Job Responsibilities 
  • Implement quality vision and spearhead the culture change to achieve that vision.  Communicate the quality improvement philosophy to all personnel in the organization.  
  • Formulate and maintain quality improvement objectives which complement corporate policies and goals and incorporate these goals and objectives into the expectations for the Quality functions at Nortek. 
  • Collect, Analyze, evaluate, and present Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) concerning factors relating to business situations, production capabilities, and manufacturing performance for consideration by other management team members and to drive improvements. 
  • Collaborates with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards and to identify and correct design problems on existing products.  
  • Work with Supplier Quality, Sourcing and Materials Management in supporting a supplier quality assurance program. 
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation. 
  • Implement and maintain a common problem-solving process, and quality data analysis tools. 
  • Keep the management team aware of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation. 
  • Prepare and present quality program information to the management team. 
  • Establish quality disciplines (problem solving, data collection, prioritization and metrics).  Develops and maintains a Quality Management System. 
  • Review data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Review technical problems and procedures and recommend solutions or revisions. 
  • Establish and oversee quality training programs (i.e. 6 Sigma, Fishbone analysis, Problem-Solving, etc.). 
  • Evaluate contents of reports from Quality Assurance Managers and confer with top management regarding areas for improvement.                                                                                         
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government, and HVAC industry quality code and standards, to ensure compliance and to drive continuous improvement of our quality metrics.  Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry. 
  • Other related duties as assigned by manager.

Job Requirements 
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field with a strong background in Quality required.  
  • Seven plus years of Quality Management experience with increased levels of responsibility (personnel and production) with a demonstrated high level of performance. At least 5 years of Quality Manager level experience. 
 
 
Preferred Experience:  
  • Five years’ Quality experience in the HVAC field or manufacturing related industry. Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, and final assembly are also a plus. 
  • Experience in ISO 9001 Standards, Lean, 5S, Kaizen and Supplier Quality preferred. 
  • Quality Engineer Certificate from American Society for Quality, preferred. 
  • Lead Auditor quality auditing experience.
