Position Summary: This is a dynamic Sales position that offers the opportunity to sell within the top growth channel for Nortek Air Solutions (NAS).  The Account Executive – Mission Critical (MC) position is responsible for selling Nortek’s cooling products to the Data Center market place.  This position allows for leveraging existing and new relationships to problem solve and deliver value add solutions with technical customers.  The Account Executive will work both independently and in teams to support secured sales growth, drive account management with a variety of customers in the Data Center market.  The opportunity to work closely with business leadership to provide valuable information on strategy, products and markets to help drive pipeline and secured market growth makes this a unique Account Executive position in the market.

The successful Account Executive will have experience in construction sales and how to close a technical, complex sale. The successful Account Executive will be a self-starter and have the drive to build and maintain both internal and external customer relationships to exceed customer requirements and expectations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Secure sales to meet or exceed annual sales plan
  • Grow opportunities (number of opportunities and $) in the MC sales pipeline to 4:1 sales plan
  • Be an industry expert in the MC Data Center space. Attend / participate in tradeshows, seminars, online events as much as possible to market Nortek with the Data Center (DC) community.
  • Work with Operations / Production, Sales Application Engineers (SAE) and NAS Leadership in the development of Mission Critical RFP / Bid technical responses
  • Make proactive sales calls and network within MC Key / Target Accounts that work in the Mission Critical space to deliver value add education and product awareness.
  • Support the Mission Critical sales and growth strategies
  • Maintain & Grow relationships with Mission Critical Accounts (Owner, Consultant, Nortek Sales Reps) and develop Account Plans to support sales growth.
  • Portfolio sell the full Nortek products to the Account base… AHU, CRAH, RDHx, CDU, etc.
  • Document sales activity in CRM on a consistent (Contacts, Opportunity Phase {Target, Discover, Qualify, Present, Close}, Sales Call Plans)
  • Work with the Consulting Engineering community and the SAE support teams to deliver equipment selections that result in Nortek Basis of Design (BoD) on Plans & Specifications
  • Work across sales boundaries with the Nortek Sales Reps to support the Rep’s sales strategies in local markets with DC customers
  • Provide consistent Voice of Customer (VOC) regarding Nortek, trends in MC, product opportunities, product ideas, etc. to Nortek Leadership, SAE team(s), NAS Sales Reps

Position Qualifications


  • 5 years of face-to-face Technical Sales / Sales management experience market
  • Experience technical selling with sales cycles that typically range from 3-12+ months and working a variety of opportunities through the sales cycles
  • Documented sales history of exceeding sales expectations
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems and using them to manage sales pipelines, customer interactions and internal communications
  • Analytical… looks to understand the business and the difference influences/approaches



  • 10 years of face-to-face Technical Sales / Sales management experience is a plus
  • Sales experience in construction with an understanding of the sales process and the customers involved in the Data Center Construction market is a plus
