Employee Relations and Experience Specialist

Position Summary: 

The Employee Relations and Experience Specialist is responsible for providing Human Resources support to the Nortek Air Solutions plant in Okarche, Oklahoma and works closely with the Senior Manager, Human Resources. This position focuses on employee relations and employee engagement but may also carry out responsibilities in policy implementation, training, recruitment/employment, and HR administration.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports an employee-centric mindset across our business especially as related to employee relations, overall employee experience, engagement, and culture
  • Conducts thorough investigations into employee complaints and concerns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
  • Develops effective relationships with team members and people leaders to promote positive employee relations throughout the organization to ensure a high level of employee engagement and positive employee experience
  • Serves as a resource for employees and people leaders on matters related to workplace dynamics, conflict resolution, and employee relations, ensuring that responses and solutions are equitable and inclusive
  • Provides advice and assistance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures; resolves HR inquiries or escalates appropriately
  • Assists in the design, coordination, and implementation of a variety of training programs
  • Partners with people leaders to support talent development initiatives
  • Stays current on state/federal employment laws and company policies
  • Approaches responsibilities with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Participates in supporting special projects with organization-wide impact
  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, or related HR function
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state law and general Human Resources concepts
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills and a focus on monitoring and addressing disparities and inequities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, negotiate, and resolve conflict
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic business environment
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and prioritization
  • Professional management of confidential information
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Preferred:

  • 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • PHR or SHRM-CP
  • Certification in conflict resolution, mediation, or related areas
  • Ability to converse in Spanish strongly preferred
