Who We're Seeking

Noble believes in establishing and reinforcing an environment conducive to learning and optimizing the time our students have for academic and personal growth. Noble students arrive having a variety of prior learning and home experiences. This presents both challenges and opportunities. While Noble has an established code of conduct from which all disciplinary actions stem, a person assuming the role of Assistant Dean of Culture should be consistent in implementation of the code of conduct while remaining creative in generating programs, processes, and interventions that are tailored to the student population and the school community in which they serve. The Assistant Dean of Culture is responsible for helping to lead a team of disciplinarians responsible for multiple tasks related to maintaining student culture; they lay the vision for the pathway toward student development of behavioral and social norms that will lead to success in Noble and beyond. The Assistant Dean of Culture is also responsible for maintaining and building relationships with students in most need of support and their families along with the development of community partnerships that may provide alternative strategies for student growth and development. The Assistant Dean of Culture will communicate and collaborate with school leadership to ensure alignment of overall vision. 

Roles and Responsibilities

The Assistant Dean of Culture will execute a number of different roles in order to ensure that we maintain a high standard of student culture. The main roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the culture systems:
    • Leading strong interventions that will change students’ trajectory 
    • Creating and maintaining effective entrance procedures
    • Creating and maintaining effective hallway/lunch procedures
    • Creating and maintaining effective exit procedures
    • Creating and maintaining effective extra-curricular events procedures
    • Running weekly detention meetings with all students who received a detention
    • Running weekly detention reports 
    • Monitoring PowerSchool (internal data entry system) to keep track of demerits entered on a daily basis; pulling reports into excel, and establishing interventions based on trends in demerits 
    • Providing professional development for teachers and staff as it relates to culture
    • Creating and maintaining effective procedures for in-school suspensions
    • Owning and executing all investigations that lead to out of school suspensions
    • Owning all communication regarding out of school suspensions with parents and families
    • Working as a member of the MTSS team to ensure we are providing appropriate supports for all students 
  • Managing a staff of 3-5 disciplinarians
    • Creating schedules for all disciplinarians to ensure the needs of the building are met
    • Coaching and developing the disciplinarians over the course of the year
