Who We're Seeking

Alumni Coordinators are responsible for providing personalized guidance and support to our graduates while they are in college, with the objective of improving persistence and college graduation.  The AC builds and maintains meaningful student relationships, develops a strong knowledge of on-campus student support services, and leverages quantitative and qualitative data from our alumni to help refine the campus’s college readiness program. The AC needs to have strong academic coaching experience and ability to equip and empower alumni with the skills and knowledge to overcome educational barriers, persist, and graduate from college.

Our Alumni Coordinators are expected to:
  • Counsel and support a caseload of GCCP Alumni as they navigate post-secondary college and career pathways in the areas of academic progress, financial aid, motivation and accountability, and professional development, often through one-on-one meetings, including:
    • Analysis of progress data toward goals for your caseload
    • Monitoring and check in with students regularly to ensure academic progress
    • Ensuring students are on track to continue receiving financial aid
    • Developing student navigation abilities by teaching students to become self-directed and set goals, plan their time, and hold themselves accountable
    • Manage multiple deadlines and key action items for alumni
    • With the Alumni Career Office, create and deliver resources for professional and career development
  • Travel to meet with alumni on campus at highly attended or high priority universities
  • Maintain/update alumni wall space at Gary Comer College Prep.
  • Serve as main point of contact for alumni returning to GCCP and for any necessary documentation alumni require
  • Support school-wide college events and initiatives, including, but not limited to college admissions rep visits, career events and programming, parent nights, financial aid process support, pre-college lessons and program applications, and college visits
  • Works directly with students applying for/receiving Last Dollar scholarships. Prepares the scholarship application .process and ensures broad promotion of the scholarship application period throughout the campus and greater community
  • Work in collaboration with the Noble Network Support Team to monitor and prepare scholarship projections and accurate expenditure reports of all scholarship funds awarded to students

Above all else, Noble Alumni Coordinators must equip and empower alumni with the skills and knowledge to overcome educational barriers, persist, and graduate from college.
