What will you do?

  • Collaborate closely with OEM partners, internal and customer engineering teams, and select 3rd parties to define next-generation features and services.
  • Collaborate with product management, system, hardware, and sales teams to set memory and CPU budgets for products.
  • Identify architectural constraints at the system level based on customer, market, technology, and business needs.
  • Establish KPIs for software deliverables, aligning with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Prototype and develop solutions to drive continuous learning and provide guidance to the team.
  • Foster a culture of change and innovation, promoting a "Do the Right Thing" mindset.
  • Communicate with software suppliers to set direction and establish new relationships.
  • Assist software managers and leads with investigations and improvement initiatives.
  • Present technical solutions and architectures to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead KPI tracking and delivery, pushing products to the limits of what is possible.
  • Review and specify new requirements based on customer and industry needs.
  • Participate in design, architectural, and code reviews as a software expert.
  • Define and create system and overall software architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of software design strategies.
  • Monitor designated code areas as a technical owner.
  • Review software bills of material for correctness.
  • Support procurement in software cost analysis.
  • Contribute to or lead SW FMEA analysis.

What will you need?

  • Broad technical background encompassing Bluetooth, WiFi, cellular technology, smartphones, navigation, GPS, tuner, satellite radio, video, voice recognition, hands-free operation, vehicle bus, advanced safety, cloud-based services, and automotive requirements.
  • Previous involvement in all phases of the software development process, including Requirements, Scope, Design/Plan, Development, Testing, and Customer Acceptance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technology leaders.
  • Proficiency in rapid prototyping tools for software and hardware, electronics, and mechanical design for consumer electronics and future device platforms.
  • Ability to articulate a vision and influence decision-making outcomes with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and customers.
  • Diplomatic leadership skills and a "whatever-it-takes" attitude within a collaborative teamwork environment to achieve results.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of computer engineering, operating systems, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Proven track record as an innovator, evidenced by forward-looking research, projects, and award-winning publications.
  • Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business.
  • Practical experience in system design, hardware/software design, and real-time embedded applications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • General knowledge of automotive infotainment systems and their applications.
  • Experience in managing external and internal vendors/partners.
  • Experience in the technology or automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills.
