Position Summary: 
The Warehousing & Inventory Manager will oversee the parts inventory and warehouse operations for our 24/7 Electronic Security Systems (ESS) equipment operations located at the US Capitol Complex and remotely at a contracted warehousing space hear Dulles, VA. This role involves managing a team of shift work employees and overseeing a warehousing contract to ensure optimal inventory levels, efficient operations, and exceptional service delivery to our US Government client.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize costs to include use of FIFO inventory philosophy per client expectations.
  • Use inventory management software to track stock levels, monitor usage patterns, and generate reports.  Ensure inventory management software is properly synchronizing data with Maximo and other government directed databases/software solutions.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of inventory records with a minimum of complete 100% inventory of equipment twice a year.
  • Analyze data to anticipate future inventory needs and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Oversee the accurate tracking, replenishment, and distribution of ESS parts/equipment to meet operational demands of US Government client.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and develop a team of shift work inventory specialists and one supervisor.
  • Create work schedules and assign tasks to ensure 24/7 coverage and efficient operations.
  • Evaluate employee performance, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Warehousing Contract Management
  • Oversee the execution and compliance of the warehousing contract.
  • Liaise with the contract warehouse provider to ensure requirements of the contract agreements are being met and/or exceeded.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the warehousing contract.
  • Negotiate contract terms and resolve any issues that arise, as needed.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments between warehouses, site storage, and site locations.
Contractor Relationships
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Repair Contactor and IT Services Contractor service technicians to understand parts requirements and usage patterns.
  • Coordinate with US Government personnel as needed as well as their contractors involved in equipment installation.  Ensure effective turnovers are being performed of the equipment.
  • Stay updated on new equipment models and corresponding parts inventory needs by coordinating with the equipment lab onsite and the design team(s).
Supplier Relations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and quality standards with supplier, if required.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and seek alternative sources when necessary.
  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and other key metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management
Skills:
Qualifications
  • Associate degree
  • 10+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the equipment or parts industry
  • Proven track record of successfully managing inventory and warehouse operations
  • Experience supervising and developing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support 24/7 operations.

Certifications:
