Position: Software Solutions Lead – AIMSS (Contingent Upon Contract Award)

Location: Huntsville, AL

Clearance:  Top Secret Clearance Eligible

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the operations of the AIMSS Software Solutions team in executing the development and maintenance of key software capabilities.  Reports directly to AIMSS Deputy Program Manager and coordinates closely with AIMSS Chief Architect. 
  • Provide technical and administrative oversight and management of the Software Solutions team
    • Provide administrative oversight and management to include interview conduction and team personnel selection, on-boarding support, timecard approvals, leave request approvals, privileged user account requests, and equipment and resource requests
    • Provide technical oversight and management to include accurate, efficient, on-time design, development, testing, delivery, troubleshooting, and maintenance of software capabilities
  • Work with the MDA customer to capture functional and technical requirements and ensure iterative and final capability meets requirements
  • Support a disciplined approach to software/solution development using an agile development approach, in a DevSecOps environment, ensuring software and methodology align with cybersecurity standards and best practices
  • Effectively coordinate with scrum masters, Deputy Program Manager, Chief Architect and MDA customer regarding software development projects to control cost, schedule, communications, personnel, etc.
  • Develop SDLC documentation to include but not limited to Detailed Design Documents, Use Cases, Implementation Plans, Test Cases, and supporting project documentation.
  • Coordinate with Cybersecurity team (ISSOs, etc.) to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements, such as RMF, ATO’s, Fortify scans, etc.
  • Coordinate with Chief Architect and Data and Cloud/System leads to ensure alignment of efforts, plans, and solutions
  • Ensure designs and solutions are approved by Chief Architect and customer at appropriate intervals
  • Ensure the environment maintains compliance with organizational policies, e.g. information assurance policies, governance policies, information architecture, enterprise architecture, etc.
  • Ensure solutions are developed to maximize existing capabilities in order to minimize the risks and costs associated with custom code development.
  • Ensure solutions are developed to maximize the capabilities of available third party extensions, while minimizing the risks and costs associated with custom code development.
  • Support MDA or contract technical/engineering boards as required
  • Provides oversight for help desk operations and support, ensuring proper staffing, timely and accurate troubleshooting, and professional communications
  • Ensures developed code is versioned and proper source control is practiced.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to interact with end users and translate business language into technical requirements.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully lead and collaborate with team members. Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • BS in Computer Science preferred
  • Minimum 10 years experience in software development
  • Minimum 5 years leading a technical team
  • DoD experience required
  • Experience with .Net, Visual Studio, ASP.Net, Java Script, CSS, HTML, AI/ML
  • Working knowledge of cyber secure development practices
  • Ability to develop use cases and orchestrate agile execution of development efforts
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to work as part of the team
  • Familiar with DoDAF views (OV,SV,SrvcV).
  • Demonstrated ability to write SQL queries and use of Microsoft SQL Server database tables and connectivity, views, stored procedures, normalization, etc.
  • Experience working with warehousing methodologies/designs and processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft O365 Power Platform (Power Apps, Automate, BI)
  • Critical thinking ability and a positive, innovative attitude required.
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to look for root causes and implementable, workable solutions
  • MDA experience preferred

Relevant Certifications:

  • CompTIA Security +, required
  • Required IA certifications in accordance with DoD Manual 8140
  • ITIL Foundation, preferred
