Tax Accountant Associate

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
The Associate Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting the Tax department in the preparation of various tax returns, compliance work, and special projects.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather financial information and prepare Excel spreadsheets for the preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Enter data in tax software to generate federal and state income tax returns.
- Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax returns and property tax returns.
- Remit quarterly income tax estimates and payments to various tax agencies. Accuracy is critical.
- Assist with preparation for and responses to tax correspondence and examinations.
- Perform other duties as related to the job function as required.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance
- 1-3 years financial and accounting experience in professional services, or related experience; Related experience preferred.
- Familiarity with researching tax laws and reporting requirements
- Microsoft Office (strong Excel), OneSource tax software
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High energy level and attention to detail
- Takes ownership of responsibilities and functions independently
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
No Supervisory qualifications are required for this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office, and ability to conduct a normal amount of work on a computer.
SALARY
At NMB, the pay band for this role is between $62,160.00 and $93,240.00 annually, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay is a part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range of the pay band process.
