 Role/Responsibilities

The Product Owner (PO) is the member of the Product Management team responsible for defining stories and prioritizing the Product Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities, research and assessment of proposed solution or technology approaches to business requirements, while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team. The person that we’re looking for is able to take abstract ideas and turn them into a concrete plan, can solve highly complex, unexpected problems, can deliver the right message to the right audience, can remain calm under pressure while prioritizing and getting the job done, and works well independently while developing strong relationships with colleagues.

The role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working closely with Product Management to prepare the content and plan of next release.

This role requires the following activities:

  • Working with architects, R&D, Program Managers, and third party vendors to understand high level design, cross-interface impact, architectural or non-functional features, and prepare for upcoming development iterations
  • Defining detailed functional product requirements in alignment with business needs and product requirements
  • Co-owning technical requirements concerning service availability and operations with the R&D team
  • Tracking overall product health and operation quality
  • Prioritizing defect remediation
  • Defining non-functional product requirements around performance, serviceability, etc.
  • Facilitating mutual understanding between multiple product and R&D teams through clear communications
  • Prioritizing and scoping user stories with Product Management and R&D to ensure on-time delivery of agreed product and features
  • Defining relevant acceptance criteria for user stories based on product usage behavior
  • Owning overall product delivery based on acceptance criteria including documentation of new features and operational guidelines
  • Ensuring that the right technology as defined by CTO/Architect is in use
  • Conducting internal product demos and assisting stakeholders in demo activity
  • Providing support to Technical Writing, Customer Support, Professional Services, and Technical Presales teams as needed to address product questions and issues
  • Making product feature, function, and design recommendations as needed to accomplish strategic goals

Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in software development, testing, product management, or project management at a global company
  • Experience with creating specifications from business requirements and delivering and explaining them to software teams
  • Experience with enterprise software architectures, infrastructures, and integration, especially on AWS
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (English)
  • Excellent business and technical writing skills (English)
  • A team player that demonstrates a strong work ethic, creativity, assertiveness, and flexibility
  • Ability to travel as required

Other preferred skills

  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies, user stories, acceptance criteria, feature prioritization, and defining product specifications
  • Experience with cloud-based delivery, SaaS, CI/CD, DevOps, and related cloud-based software development and delivery methodologies
  • Experience in financial risk and compliance
