Position Overview
  
NYPR is seeking a highly organized, personable, and motivated Mid-Level Giving Associate who is eager to build a career in fundraising and donor engagement. 
 
The Mid-Level Giving Associate plays an essential role in supporting NYPR’s mid-level donor program, which focuses on cultivating, stewarding, and upgrading individual donors making significant annual contributions. This role provides critical donor-facing, administrative, and data support that enables the program to operate efficiently, thoughtfully, and at scale. 
 
This position is ideal for someone with 0-1 years of experience, including internship experience in development or customer-facing work, who is excited about learning how the donor program functions, values strong systems and follow-through, and brings a donor-centered mindset to their work. 
 
The Associate reports to the Director of Mid-Level Giving and collaborates across the Development Team. 
 
ShapeResponsibilities 
 
Donor Engagement & Stewardship Support  
  • Support a timely, accurate, and thoughtful donor acknowledgement process, ensuring mid-level donors are thanked and welcomed in ways that reflect NYPR’s values and donor-centered approach.  
  • Serve as a point of contact for mid-level donors via phone and email, staff concierge hotlines, and respond to donor inquiries and account questions.  
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of donor stewardship and cultivation activities, including events and small group gatherings.  
Program & Campaign Support  
  • Provide logistical support for mid-level giving campaigns, including renewal and upgrade appeals via direct mail and email.  
  • Project manage a multi-channel communications schedule, keeping campaigns and outreach efforts on track with internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Partner with Development Operations on developing quality assurance processes to maintain data integrity and improve donor segmentation.  
  • Run basic reports to support program analysis and decision-making.  
  • Track departmental expenses and assist with invoice processing.  
  • Provide operational support as needed to enable the Mid-Level Giving Team to focus on strategy, donor relationships, and revenue growth.  
 
Professional Growth & Learning  
  • Develop a working understanding of mid-level donor strategies, stewardship best practices, and fundraising operations.  
  • Gain exposure to donor communications, campaign planning, and cross-functional collaboration within a complex development operation.  
  • Contribute ideas and observations that help improve systems, processes, and donor experience over time.  
This role is based in New York City (or the immediate metro area) and operates in a hybrid capacity. This individual is expected to work onsite at WNYC’s Manhattan headquarters at least 2 days a week. 
Qualifications 
  
  • This position is ideal for someone with 0-1 years of experience, including internship experience in development or customer-facing work, who is excited about learning how the donor program functions, values strong systems and follow-through, and brings a donor-centered mindset to their work.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Outlook.  
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to    
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines.  
  • Comfort working with databases and spreadsheets; Salesforce preferred but not required.  Experience with email systems and digital communications is a plus.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Professional, warm, and donor-centered approach to work.  
  • Ability to effectively solve problems as issues arise within the scope of work.  Demonstrated interest in building a career in development or nonprofit management.  
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for donor events.
