Weekend Assistant Producer, WNYC News (part-time)
Description
- Assist day-of editors and hosts in monitoring for and responding to breaking news
- Gather and edit audio remotely
- Gather audio in the field, as assigned
- Write newscast stories and other material for broadcast
- Write content for Gothamist and the WNYC website, as assigned
- Pitch story ideas with an eye towards bolstering weekend programming
- Book guests and script host interviews
- At least one year of professional journalism experience
- Experience with audio editing
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
- Effective time-management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proven ability to pay close attention to detail and fact-checking
- Deep commitment to ethical journalism
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to contribute an equity lens to their work
Additional Information
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between New York Public Radio and SAG-AFTRA.
