Primary Function

The main focus of this position supports the ongoing escrow accounting support and compliance needs of the organization and mitigate risk.

Principal Duties

  • Review Stale Check report and work to have monies cashed, reissued, or marked for escheatment
  • Print and mail checks as well as communicate with intended recipients to have them cashed.
  • Review File Balance reports and make sure all monies are being disbursed timely or held for an appropriate reason
  • Report any discrepancies, issues, shortages or funding errors immediately
  • Follow up and remediation on daily deposits, delayed fundings, stale checks, file balances
  • Review exception reports to communicate delays and issues to customers
  • Work to close old accounts
  • Assist with Bi-annual escheat report with accounting
  • Prepare and review remittance reports
  • Prepare other licensing, compliance, accounting reports to support the business
  • Assist with customer complaints, legal matters, or tracking of responses
  • Support management as a liaison to large clients for on-boarding and ongoing account maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Accounting, Reporting, Financial background beneficial
  • Recommend two (2) to three (3) years of experience
  • Experience in the mortgage, appraisal, and/or title industry preferred

  • Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate careful decision-making skills
  • Will need to work independently with minimal supervision
