Your Opportunity

The Senior Manager is responsible for assisting the product organization in managing New Relic’s Product Portfolios and to align across corporate/departmental objectives. This position will lead the product lifecycle process for the portfolio of products and services through financial planning, analytics, and rationalization. This role will work collaboratively with internal partners, cross-functional teams and occasionally outside resources to define business needs to assist with better decision making.

The Sr. Manager will be responsible for developing strategies that will include, but are not limited to:

Facilitating the product lifecycle process, defining product critical metrics to be reported, proper audiences for reporting, frequency of reporting, and potential tools/processes that can be demonstrated to increase automation and visibility to key lifecycle information. You will be tasked with creating managerial reporting that has a clearly defined ‘rhythm and cadence’ and provides actionable information for decision-makers in the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead department prioritization process and support corporate prioritization processes
  • Support product lifecycle processes for the department
  • Design and implement managerial portfolio reporting strategies to allow business leaders to make more informed decisions
  • Ensure product business cases and financial analyses are complete to rationalize product investments and market opportunities
  • Work closely with FP&A and operational leaders to develop financial and operational reporting to support the recording of in-flight investments, the preparation of the operating budgets and long-range strategic plans
  • Actively identify and balance constraints affecting the portfolio to minimize impact to business imperatives
  • Develop tools, reporting/dashboards to provide portfolio transparency to key work partners
  • Facilitate and build the ongoing portfolio and department communications to all partners including functional level and Executive audiences.
  • Effectively work on multiple assignments, activities or initiatives as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Product Leadership Team

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • Requires BS/BA in a related discipline (i.e., Technology, Business, Economics, Finance), MBA preferred
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in equivalent (i.e., financial analyst, project management, program management)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly develop solid working relationships
  • Shown ability to develop and lead teams
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and vlookups
  • Validated understanding of financial management, critical metric management, and prioritization concepts
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new job-related information
  • Possess especially strong attention to detail
  • Strong decision-making, project management, and organizational skills

Nice-to-have:

  • Ability to give clear and consistent instructions to team members
  • Ability to develop alternative solutions and provide justified recommendations
  • Writing proficiency, visual design skills, and oral presentation abilities.
  • Success in a startup environment – high energy, quick turns, limited structure and oversight
