Your Opportunity 

As our first New Relic PeopleOps Executive Communications Specialist, you will execute an internal and external communications strategy for our Chief People Officer (CPO). We are seeking an energetic, outgoing individual who thrives on storytelling and creating compelling content. You will use your creativity and tact to work with the CPO and leadership team to drive employee engagement, message our company promise to build a diverse, equal and inclusive culture that ultimately attracts and retains the best talent. Your communications toolkit includes experience with modern collaboration vehicles such as: Jive, LumApps, G-suite, Slack and video. You love spending your day working as a business advocate for the CPO in addition to collaborating across all levels of the company to ensure messaging is clear, right for the audience and measured for impact.

This role is right for you if you know instinctively that internal communications is about empathy and you have a passion for connecting the people you work with to the information they need to know. Prior experience with enterprise technology, hyper-growth or transitional company environments and experience working with Executives will be your foundation for success. Reporting to the Director, Executive and GTM Communications within the Brand, Customer, Content and Communications (BCCC) team at New Relic, you will build a communications process and foundation that results in employee leader confidence, understanding of the company goals and aspirations and is known as one of the best places to work. 


What You’ll Do

  • Build communications program for New Relic’s Chief People Officer which elicit excitement, engagement, drive business outcomes and inspire employees.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the Chief People Officer and the global People Ops leadership team, on communications approach, messaging and positioning; influence partners as needed to ensure communications are compelling and aligned to the needs of employees and business goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition team to tell the New Relic story to attract top talent
  • Plan and execute People Ops employee engagement events, such as all-hands, town hall meetings and round tables to promote important news and information.
  • Collaborate with the Global Employee Communications lead on change management issues to determine the best approach to communicate change.
  • Partner with key internal team members which span the Americas, APAC and EMEA, to develop and support a broad range of internal communications initiatives and events.
  • Partner with Chief People Officer to build a platform which will be focused on New Relic as a great place to work and a great place to grow a career.
  • Assist our Chief People Officer in securing speaking opportunities, brainstorming the best content to deliver and executing on the keynote.
  • Partner across the broader BCCC team to work with leaders across social media, public relations and beyond to build and grow the Chief People Officer's external persona with compelling and differentiated point of views in the market.
  • Create aligned messaging across functional teams within the People Ops organization and all content (written emails, internal blog posts, placed content, presentations, and beyond) is the highest quality, creative and compelling and supports New Relic’s mission, vision and strategy
  • Some travel is required


Your Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications role working with HR teams, enterprise software and/or technology organizations
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and project management skills with prior work samples
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
