Your Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to drive a successful product to its next level. You’ll get to lead the team and help shape its future in a position that will have a high level of impact on our growing End User monitoring business.

You may have heard about New Relic’s leadership culture. You’ll work together with your management peers in a collaborative, results-focused, and supportive environment. For people who love learning, geek out on management, and appreciate continual improvement, this isn’t just a job, it's joyful work!

What You’ll Do

Build the team. You’ll help build the team that will deliver the next phase of our Browser product. This includes hiring, career development, and team development.

Deliver. You will be running highly technical, complex projects. You’ll be responsible for the project management and team process around delivery. You can expect to work with strong partners from design and product.

Your Qualifications

  • This particular position requires 4 years of software engineering management experience.
  • Ideally, you would have experience in front-end engineering — with JavaScript or Browser technology. If you don't know what source maps, React, Flux, Angular, or ES6 are, your ramp up on this position will be a lot longer. If you know what the resource timing spec is, that's a great sign.
  • You enjoy delivering to customers, continually, and in small increments.
  • You value high iteration speed, low cycle times, beautiful UX, a focus on the actual problems we're solving for our customers, good communication and collaboration, and improving the people around us.
  • You enjoy helping others succeed. If you’re command and control, this is not the position for you.
  • You are willing to adapt your management style. We’re working in a highly changing environment, and having a particular process you follow isn’t going to work.
  • People who start with an intention to understand and listen tend to do well here.
  • You really enjoy change. Although the company is doing well and the work/life balance is something we highly value and support at New Relic, we’re a growing company, and that means things change a lot here. You receive a lot of support, but you will see the job evolve every six months, so you should flourish with this kind of environment.
  • You have a passion for supporting engineers and championing their career growth.
  • You are able to be a phenomenal partner to product and design.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
