Your Opportunity

As the Software Engineering Manager of the Alerts Lifecycle team, you’ll be working with engineers responsible for the incident management and notification system of Alerts. This group builds products that help the customer to identify and resolve the issues in their production environment quickly by delivering a timely notification with all the right context and metadata.

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical background and passion to lead teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multiple teams across the product organization. This position is available to work from home or any New Relic office in the US

What You'll Do

  • Enable the team with the context, vision, skills, and tools they need to succeed
  • Own the team roadmaps, striking a balance between feature work, maintaining reliable services, and paying off technical debt
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the team members, holding regular career path conversations with clear success criteria
  • On-board new team members

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • At least 3 years proven experience with managing software engineering teams including leading and handling backlog and roadmap
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in a senior/lead/principal capacity
  • Consistent track record of leading a team that delivers high-quality software in regular, iterative releases
  • Understanding of operating distributed data systems at scale
  • Experience with designing, developing, and testing scalable distributed systems
  • Ability to collaborate within your own and across departments
Nice-to-have:
  • Expertise in Java or Kotlin, or similar programming languages
  • Experience with DevOps processes, tooling, and practices
  • Exposure to cloud transformations (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or hybrid cloud
