Leading the New Relic Product Security Assurance team may be for you. This team owns the overall security posture of New Relic's products and services. By partnering with engineering organizations across the company, we help ensure the delivery of secure products that keep customer and employee data safe by default.

Opportunity to work from a remote office may be available depending on applicant location.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead New Relic’s SDLC program, not only managing but inspiring an international team of engineers and program managers to deliver results that measurably improve the security of New Relic products and services.
  • Develop new ways to prioritize project deliverables, with a specific focus on finding and getting fixed the worst security flaws in the most places. We work in a continuous deployment, cloud-based environment, you and your team will need to fluidly adapt security initiatives to the processes and technologies New Relic uses to deliver innovative and market-leading products.
  • Create or implement tools and services to accelerate discovery and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams across New Relic to help perform and validate root cause analysis of failures and understand different technology stacks.
  • Plan and manage an expanding portfolio of security areas and track associated metrics and external cases and research.
  • Create and represent plans to leadership team for driving security improvements across New Relic product offerings.

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 4+ years Security Assurance or Application Security experience
  • 2+ years People Management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Nice-to-have:

  • Highly proficient with SDLC frameworks and delivering security reviews including code review, threat modeling, static and dynamic analysis (SAST, DAST), and attack surface analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud and web application security assessment. Penetration testing or red team experience helpful but not required.
  • Ability to explain and advise on security design and implementation of complex security problems.
  • Inclusive communication skills that effectively align and create clarity; you will collaborate with a global audience at all levels of the business from individual contributors to executive leaders.
  • Confidence navigating ambiguity and identifying innovative solutions with minimal direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a bias for action, critical and creative thinking, while also being an effective member of a team.
