Your Opportunity

Engineering Operations is an internal tools team taking care of incident management tooling and observability. The team provides services used across the engineering and support organizations at New Relic that improve the quality of life for on-call engineers!

Our team is looking for a new Senior Engineer. Engineering Operation is a phenomenal place to grow your full stack skills and technical leadership while surrounded by an encouraging and supportive team. We are a remote-friendly team and you will be able to work from home or any New Relic office.

What You’ll Do

  • Create tools and workflows to improve cross-team collaboration during and after service incidents.
  • Build platform-wide observability to help reveal our true customer experience.

Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of proven experience delivering software
  • Extensive hands-on experience and proficiency in JavaScript. We happen to use Node, but we value proven JavaScript skills first and foremost
  • Extensive hands-on experience and proficiency in one or more of the following: Ruby, Python. We happen to use Rails.
  • Exposure to CI/CD/DevOps, Terraform, Docker, and monitoring technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbally and in writing with a passion to improve the lives of on-call engineers

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong testing abilities. Consideration of both automated testing and monitoring to improve team efficiency and reliability of production services
