Strategic Sourcing Specialist – Manufacturing
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist – Manufacturing is responsible for managing both tactical purchasing and strategic sourcing initiatives to support manufacturing operations. This role overseas supplier relationships, procurement processes, and cost-effective sourcing of materials, services and capital expenditures. Day-to-day, this position ensures the timely availability of critical supplies, manages supplier performance, resolves procurement challenges, and supports production efficiency. The successful candidate will drive sourcing strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining seamless daily operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and process purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate procurement
- Follow up on delivery dates and proactively address any delays or disruptions
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and work closely with warehouse and finance teams to resolve issues
- Ensure system data accuracy and maintenance within MRP
- Investigate and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely payments
- Build new and lead existing relationships with key suppliers to cultivate a shared understanding of New Pig requirements around cost, quality, and delivery
- Lead negotiations for key supplier contracts, ensuring optimal pricing, terms and service levels
- Identify and onboard new suppliers as needed to ensure supply continuity and cost competitiveness
- Measure and track supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement
- Support inventory planning by advising on purchasing needs for materials and services to meet operational requirements
- Analyze financial reports, sales data, and operational metrics to identify cost reduction opportunities and service enhancements
- Communicate with Senior Management on short-term and long-term objectives. Provide and distribute regular information (reports, verbal communication, dashboards, etc.) to communicate operational results, trends and costs.
- Support the development, implementation and improvement of systems used in procurement

Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible roles in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Strong understanding of complex manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and engineered products
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Competency with software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools
- Experience with ERP, MRP, or other procurement/supply chain management systems
- Pro-active problem solver – identifying, analyzing, and developing solutions to problems
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Initiative-driven with a goal-oriented mindset
- Ability to travel up to 10%
