Title: Warehouse Coordinator/Specialist

Job Overview:
 
The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for shipping & receiving goods, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and organizing the inventory for easy access and distribution. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively and efficiently to ensure the smooth flow of materials in and out of the warehouse.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
 
  • Receiving Process 
  • Verify incoming shipments of goods and materials to ensure they match purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips. 
  • Accurately log received items into inventory management systems, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and organization. 
  • Process returns for incorrect or damaged items, ensuring proper documentation is completed. 
  • Perform basic tasks within the enterprise resource planning tool.  
  • Liaise with suppliers or vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues with returns or damaged goods. 
  • Work closely with inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure proper stock levels and timely replenishment of materials.
Shipping Process:
  • Review and process customer orders for transfer or loading, ensuring that all items are picked, packed, and preloaded on DDS Route trailers in accordance with company policies and customer requirements. 
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including shipping labels, packing slips, and invoices. 
  • Ensure that all orders are shipped out on time, monitoring any delays or issues that arise and coordinating with internal teams or external carriers to resolve them promptly. 
  • Address and resolve shipping issues such as missing items, incorrect shipments, or delivery delays. 
  • Perform basic tasks within the enterprise resource planning tool. 
Quality Control: 
 
  • Work closely with the warehouse and inventory teams to ensure that shipped items match inventory records. 
  • Perform proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit and ensure all items are labeled correctly for shipping, including the use of barcodes and tracking numbers. 
  • Handle returned or undelivered items by coordinating return shipments, restocking products, and processing refunds or exchanges as needed. 
  • Assist with regular cycle counts or stock audits as needed to maintain inventory accuracy. 
  • Confirm correct items and quantities are received. 
  • Inspect received goods for any damage or discrepancies. 
  • Document and report any issues of received goods immediately to management.

  • Maintain accurate records of received shipments and departed shipments, including quantities, descriptions, and any other relevant information. 
Work Environment:
 
  • Maintain proper storage of goods in the warehouse, ensuring items are stored in an organized and easily retrieved fashion.  
  • Maintain cleanliness within the warehouse facility. 
  • Operate a electric pallet jack, wave (man lift), Taylor Dunn (stock chaser).
 
Safety : 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations during the receiving, storage and shipping processes. 
  • Safely operate various pieces of equipment, such as a Forklift and Pallet Jack. 
  • Comply with all other company safety policies and procedures. 
Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required.
  • 1+ years' work experience in a warehouse environment required.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jack required.
  • Comfortable working in a heavy-duty warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping processes and logistics.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and data entry.
  • Basic knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read and write and perform simple mathematics.
  • Ability to use and understand a ruler and/or taper measurer.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
 
Physical Requirements:
 
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with other associates. Ability to use stairs and walk on paved and unpaved surfaces.
