This position provides clinical supervision of health services throughout the agency to ensure the best possible standard of care. Directs the operations, programs, and activities of nurses and trained and licensed staff in the delivery of care. Demonstrates and practices the New Avenues to Independence values.

Responsibilities:

1. As a member of the Senior Administrative leadership team provides leadership and support to all staff regarding health related issues.
2. Provide clinical training, supervision, and support to unlicensed DD personnel.
3. Responsible for day-to-day management of Health Services department and staff including supervision and training.
4. Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating nursing staff.
5. Responsible for compliance with and medical related fulfillment in accordance with Medicaid Standards, State Licensure Rules, OSHA regulations, ODH/DODD Standard, Nurse Practice Act and /or NATI Policies and Procedures.
6. Direct practice of LPN’s.
7. Ensure that UI’s and MUI’s are reported and follow-up per DODD and Medicaid rules.
8. Serves as a Liaison between Medical Directors and New Avenues. Responsible for overseeing the implementation of Physicians orders
9. Responsible for ensuring nurses and non-licensed DD personnel provide timely and accurate information for clinical follow-up regarding all medications, topical treatments and health conditions of individuals.
10. Oversees all aspects of medication administration by non-licensed DD personnel under the State of Ohio DODD medication Administration Standards. Includes teaching levels of certification classes, input of information, updating and maintaining MAIS database, and offering continuing educations units per DODD requirement. Includes investigation and resolution of clinical issue pertaining to non-licensed personnel performing clinical tasks. Works with the Human Resources department to ensure staff certifications are current.
11. Coordinates/ consults with physician and ancillary health service providers (pharmacy, lab, dietary, occupational and physical therapy, etc)
12. Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team within NATI to respond to resident’s needs (ICF). Attend special meetings pertinent to IHP's or quarterly IHP meetings, as needed.
13. Order, store, administer and document immunizations, and seasonal vaccinations, for NATI ICF residents and staff.
14. Encourage professional development and further education for Nursing dept. by providing opportunities to attend seminars, trainings, meetings and classes, etc.
15. Oversees the agency’s coordination of Medicare Part D benefits for ICF residents.
16. Coordinates Infection Control practices and Infection Control Committee.

Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse with current state of Ohio licensure; prefer BSN
2. IDD background with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a clinical, supervisory      and administrative leadership role in an IDD, mental health or similar setting, required;
3. Two (2) years of experience in intake assessments preferred;
4. Strong IDD, behavioral health, dual diagnosis, person-centered planning and medical        assessment skills;
5. Current State of Ohio driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and required          insurance coverage.
6. Must have reliable transportation available at all times.
7. Maintain auto liability insurance with at least state minimum coverage level.
8. Excellent and advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs.
9. Excellent analytical and reporting skills required.
