Your opportunity for impact:
NetDocuments is seeking a SaaS Collections Manager who will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable (AR) function, overseeing the collection of overdue invoices, and ensuring that the company’s cash flow remains healthy. This individual will work closely with internal teams such as sales, finance, and customer success, as well as interact with customers to resolve payment issues and reduce delinquencies. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of SaaS billing and subscription models.
What your contributions will be:
- Collections Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement efficient collections strategies to reduce outstanding receivables
- Oversee all collections activities, including contacting customers, sending reminders, negotiating payment terms, and escalating issues when necessary
- Maintain a focus on customer relationships while ensuring timely payment collection
- Work with the finance team to ensure that collections align with the company's revenue recognition policies
- Customer Account Management:
- Main point of contact for escalations and proactively reach out to customers with overdue accounts via phone, email, and other communication channels
- Resolve disputes, billing errors, or issues related to the SaaS service, working with cross-functional teams as needed
- Collaborate with the customer success team to identify and address any potential service-related reasons behind non-payment
- Reporting & Metrics:
- Track and report on key collections metrics (e.g., Days Sales Outstanding [DSO], aging reports, recovery rates)
- Provide regular updates to management on collections performance, outstanding balances, and areas of concern
- Analyze aging reports to prioritize collections efforts on high-risk accounts
- Payment Plans & Negotiations:
- Work with customers to set up payment plans for overdue accounts where applicable
- Negotiate and resolve payment disputes, ensuring favorable terms for both the customer and the company
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and optimize collections processes to improve efficiency and reduce DSO
- Implement best practices for billing, collections, and customer communication
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements for collections
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a small team of collections agents, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback
- Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams to ensure smooth collections workflows
- Other duties as assigned
Ideally you will have:
- Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software and Salesforce required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 5+ years of experience in collections within a SaaS, subscription-based, or technology-focused company
- Strong understanding of SaaS billing models, subscription payments, and revenue recognition
- Proven experience managing accounts receivable, collections processes, and customer negotiations
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Familiarity with financial reporting and metrics (e.g., DSO, aging reports, bad debt reserves)P
- Experience working in a B2B SaaS environment
- Familiarity with global payment systems and cross-border collections is a plus
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects of debt collection is a plus

Compensation Transparency
The compensation range for this position is: $95,000 - $105,000
The posted cash compensation for this position includes on target earnings, base salary and variable if applicable. Some roles may qualify for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are determined based on various factors specific to each candidate, such as career level, skills, experience, geographic location, qualifications, and other job-related considerations
