Job Title – Selenium Web Automation Test engineer

Required Skills

• 3-6+ years of experience in writing web automation scripts using Java, Selenium, BDD, Cucumber.
• Design and architect scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks using Selenium and modern tools.
• Develop high-quality test scripts using Java and Python following best coding practices.
• Implement BDD frameworks (Cucumber) to enable collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Drive shift-left testing practices by collaborating early in the development lifecycle.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing using tools like Selenium Grid, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs.
• Analyze failures using logs, dashboards, and reporting tools (Allure, Extent Reports).
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience validating data integrity, transactions, and backend processing.
• Ability to perform database checks for automated test scenarios.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to automation strategy and roadmap.
• Banking domain experience is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Pega applications is especially desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implement a scalable test automation framework and strategy using Selenium WebDriver;
• Create test strategy, test plans and test cases for projects managed through Agile development methodology;
• Develop and maintain methods and libraries needed to rapidly grow and scale automation suite;
• Develop scripts for Web Services and Rest Services. Develop automation scripts on web applications, web services.
• Contribute to test automation framework written in Java, Selenium, Webdriver, SQL’s
• Addressing complex testing challenges and accelerating the regression test process.
• Execute automated tests and analyze results to identify defects.
• Collaborate with software developers and QA analysts to develop effective testing strategies.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide input on testability and quality risks.
• Report and document bugs and track their resolution.
• Should be able to work as manual tester as and when required.

Preferred Skills

• API automation testing using RestAssured  or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress for modern UI automation.
• Basic performance testing knowledge (JMeter, k6).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience with AI-assisted testing, self-healing automation, or intelligent test prioritization.
• Understanding of test observability, distributed tracing, and quality metrics for modern systems.
