QA Engineer (Freelance, Part-Time)
Join our cross-functional team to ensure the quality and reliability of a newly built mobile app in the personal branding and content intelligence space. You'll work closely with the Product Manager, mobile developers, and AI engineers to test core features, validate functionality across user flows, and help us launch a polished, market-ready product.
In this role, you will…
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define and execute test plans for critical user journeys and backend processes.
- Perform manual functional testing of the iOS app, backend services, and admin portal.
- Identify and document bugs, edge cases, and UX issues.
- Validate AI-generated outputs for quality, correctness, and relevance where applicable.
Collaboration & Release Support
- Collaborate with the product and engineering team to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.
- Support the release process by verifying fixes and performing regression testing.
- Work closely with developers to ensure efficient handover of test feedback and technical context.
Continuous Improvement
- Help establish lightweight QA processes and test documentation for the MVP phase.
- Provide input on test coverage, prioritization, and risk areas.
- Contribute to defining acceptance criteria and edge cases during feature scoping.
You should bring…
- Strong experience in manual QA testing for digital products (mobile and backend).
- A structured approach to identifying and documenting issues.
- Familiarity with agile delivery environments and early-stage product development.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working remotely with distributed teams.
- Fluency in English (German is a plus, but not required).
Project context:
- The app is a mobile-first iOS product focused on LinkedIn content insights and recommendations.
- Part-time availability is sufficient (~1–2 days/week), with flexibility around delivery phases.
- Kick-off planned for early September, QA involvement starting around mid October
