Requirements and responsibilities

As a System Administrator - DevOps II, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems. Your role involves performing critical systems maintenance tasks, ensuring system backup, recovery, and efficient file maintenance to promote uptime and reliability.  

What you'll do:

1. Systems Maintenance:

  • Perform regular system backups and ensure data recovery processes are in place.
  • Conduct file maintenance activities to optimize system performance.

2. Infrastructure Management:

  • Acquire, install, and test system software upgrades and computer components.
  • Configure software and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Maintain documentation of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting procedures.

3. Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with development and operational teams to enhance communication and streamline processes.
  • Work closely with software developers to automate deployment processes.
  • Automate testing and scanning as much as possible through the pipelines for functional testing.

4. Deployment and Monitoring:

  • Oversee deployment processes, ensuring smooth releases and rollbacks.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for system health and performance.

5. Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure the security and integrity of the operating system environment.
    Implement security protocols and best practices.
  • Monitor system performance and address vulnerabilities promptly.
    Automate testing and scanning as much as possible through the pipelines for security and compliance using customer-approved tools.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 to 6 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Experience with Git for version control.
  • General knowledge of AWS architecture and hands on experience with hands on experience with these AWS services: S3, EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM, DynamoDB, RDS, and SQS.
  • Good to have experience with the EFS, FSX, SES, SNS, Kinesis, Elasticache, Opensearch.
