NeoGenomics is looking for a Senior Scientist to join the Pharma Services team to focus on Immunohistochemistry related projects to support our industry clients. This opening can be based at either of our California labs or as a remote position.

Position Summary:

The Senior Scientist provides technical leadership to the department within multiple modalities, with an emphasis on Immunohistochemistry, using a strong knowledge base for guiding development/validation design, problem solving, and presenting pharma capabilities, proposals and results for projects within the company and externally. 

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently and independently interacts and supports commercial teams in developing and presenting project proposals and statements of work for development, validation and clinical study projects.
  • Independently designs and supports development and validation studies within the modality areas, consistent with intended use.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all Core Responsibilities of a Scientist.
  • Consistently and independently performs the more complex level of procedures and projects.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentors and guides laboratory teams in performing project experiments.
  • Represent the department in a diverse range of settings, including with other departments, clients, audits, vendors, and conferences.
  • Provide leadership on project design and feasibility studies.
  • Perform literature review(s), writes project/product proposals or plans.
  • Analyze and present data and project updates to the management team.
  • Validate and translate new tests and/or new technology for addition to Pharma capabilities

Experience & Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Ph.D. in a life science or M.D preferred; M.S./Advanced degree in a life, physical or computer science with greater than 10 years related experience.
  • Four or more years industry-related laboratory or technical experience interpreting IHC images strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in a CAP/CLIA regulated environment preferred 
  • Strong understanding of laboratory and/or analytical techniques.
  • Ability to develop and deliver complex directions and scientific project plans.
  • Detail oriented with ability to capture and record complex scientific data accurately and reliably.
  • Minimal Travel Required.
